How it happened...
We had planned a trip to Disney right after Christmas 2008. Both of our birthdays are also in December so we made it our birthday/Christmas presents to each other. My birthday was actually while we were on our trip. Jason had been faking me out for months about how there was no way we would get engaged before graduation, probably not even within the next year, we even had gotten into a fight about it, so I did not expect anything but a fun vacation. So the day of my birthday we had an amazing day at Disney. My parents called and told us they would treat us to breakfast, we went on the animal safari, and even saw the amazing spectacle of lights show. We had dinner reservations at Cinderellas Royal Table that night and even saw fireworks right before dinner!
After an amazing dinner we went to change (it was actually cold in Florida!) and then he wanted to go sit by the moat around the castle, which I thought was a little weird but we had just eaten a lot so I didn't think anything of it. So we sat down on a bench, looking up at the beautifully lit up castle and Jason said "there's actually a reason I wanted to come here". The thoughts that came to my mind where "where? Disney? I thought I wanted to come here". And all of a sudden he was down on his knee! He said some beautiful things, most of which I can't remember, except 'Will you marry me?', after asking if he was joking I said 'YES!' and proceeded to sob!
Turns out he had sneakily asked my parents out to dinner a month before to ask for their blessing!
