The Gown

I went to school for fashion design and specialized in bridal design so of course I will be making my own gown. I'm really excited about it. I've been looking around at styles that I want and I know I want more of a ballgown and sweetheart neckline but I'm just not sure what direction I'm going to go in. I've started doing some sketches and will post some as soon as I have them narrowed down.

So I've finally started my gown! I have a VERY rough sketch of what I'm aiming for. I started to drape it so I have an idea of what the whole thing will look like. I took pictures of the skirt without the bodice. Half of the fabric is muslin and the other is silk dupioni which is what I'm goin to be using. Like I said, rough beginning but you kind of get the idea so far...hopefully I'll have a muslin done soon to show.

Okay, so trying to decide between the two styles. One has simple gathers at the top, the other more like swags of fabric. I'm aiming for volume and unique shape (not curtain look alikes) I wanted something to the skirt but not pick ups - what do you think? (FYI the left is in the real fabric and the right is in muslin)

Accessories

I already have the headpiece picked out, it's swarovski crystals and freshwater pearls. I also know that I want a fingertip double layer veil, I  haven't decided if I'm going to make that yet or not. I will be wearing my pearls as well, now I just need some nice earrings to match :)

Shoes

Can't decide if I want white or gold. If i go with white, these are my choices so far.

Gold Shoes

Found these at Off Broadway Shoes. They are knock offs of the Stuart Weitzman's above and they're in gold! They were also about $250 less. I guess at this point I figured if I want to buy expensive shoes I should buy ones that Id like to wear more often. I think I might add some pearls to the ruffles(which need to be steamed) on these.
